"The file couldn’t be opened because it isn’t in the correct format." keeps on showing, even on empty channels.

"The file couldn’t be opened because it isn’t in the correct format." keeps on showing, even on empty channels. All files are updated and linked or deleted, but it keeps giving this error on almost every channel. In the LOG file it shows old file names. Any ideas how to fix this?

Thanks!

Hi,

what do you mean log file shows old file names? Did you rename or move your files?

Did you perform any system update or MiX16 PRO update and after this error occured?

Is this new or old project which are you trying to use?

What happens if you create new project, add some files and save it and then open it? Does it work or the same problem occurs?

Some important notes you should follow:
1. make sure you are using media files stored on local disk (not removable drive or cloud),
2. make sure you don't rename or move files to different location,
3. always create backup by exporting your project (File > Export Project), because exporting project will save all project settings and also copy all your media files into one folder (in this case you can use removable drive),
4. if you are transfering project to a different computer or before performing system or MiX16 PRO update also export your project (note 3), just in case, because sometimes system security changes are applied which can affect your files and projects.

You can send me your project and log file to info@mix16apps.com. I can prepare import for you. All you will have to do is copy all your media files from this project into one folder and follow my instructions how to import it.
