imix & Onsong

Hi Folks,

i recently bought imix16 pro32 and though i could run this side by side with the onsong app.

To explain my thoughts: I thought i could run imix in the background and trigger some Videos by midi comming from the external footpedal which is connected to onsong. There the hit of a pedal would send out a midi note from within onsong over to imix.

I did a lot of testing, but neither i could get the midi signal in, nor did the imix app run in the background: When switching back to onsong the manually started Video stops immidiently.

Could you please help me to understand the possibilities and assist on this issue?

Hi,

only foreground app is displayed on external display on iPadOS. This is how iPadOS works. So when you send iMiX16 to background, video will stop showing on external display, because it is a part of iMiX16 app.

As far as midi goes - i don’t know what kind of protocol OnSong app uses to distribute midi messages to other apps on the same device. But at the end of the day it does not matter because even if you get midi working between this two apps, iMiX16 would still need to be your foreground app if you would like to play videos on external display.
