Control app with OSC

Hi, I'd like to know if it's possible control the Lampy Showtec light controller by Osc with iMix.
I bought iMix16 Pro64. Thank you for your time.

Paul, i already replied with the instructions how to do it. Did you receive it?

Each cue in MiX16 Show Cue can send OSC commands to device or app. You can send command on play, pause, stop and volume change. You can also send multiple commands on play or stop using MIDI and OSC Output Script.

So the answer is yes, you can turn on mics on XR18 with one cue, turn them off with another and also play sound.

Hi Grega

Thank you very much- I will explore the OSC commands and the interactivity between the app and Behringer. I managed to get the iMix app on my iPad to mute and unmute a channel on the XR18 which was really exciting - but could not do this in Mix16 Show Cue Lite version. Off to read your email in detail!

Out of interest, can I check if I am configuring our setup correctly? We have two people - one with an iPad with sound effects (this would run Mix26 Show Cue Lite as for this show we have less than 30 sound effects and songs). The audio comes out of iPad via USB-C to audio jacks and into 2 linked channels in the XR18.

I control the XR18 mixer from my Mac using the X-Air Edit application. Currently the XR18 has snapshots (or scenes) for the Mics on stage and for sound effects. THIS is where I want to use one of your apps instead as the XR software is limited when it comes to running a show.

We are only using sound- not video or lighting (yet).

Would you suggest I run Mix16 Show Cue OR Mix16 Pro? I am not sure I understand the difference between the two. Is Show Cue an enhaned version of Mix16Pro?

Many thanks - looking forward to enhancing our workflow with your applications!

Hi Grega,

Can imix16 send osc message to touchOsc?

For example the level of the volume fader.

At the moment TouchOsc can control imix, but I'm not sure about viceversa.

Thank you

Marco

Yes it can. Go to MIDI section of the app and tap Settings. Enter OSC Out Host and OSC Out Port. If TouchOsc is on the same iPad out host is 127.0.0.1, if on different check its IP address. For out port check TouchOsc input port in its settings.
Once you have this set you can use MIDI section to assign MIDI and OSC output command for specific control (action). For example for Audio Master Volume fader. Or use Playlist Cue when you can enter custom OSC command.

Thank you so much for you help and very well done for you job. If I have amy request for new functions, may I ask?

Of course. Send an email to info@mix16apps.com.

Hi,

i don’t know this controller, but if it can accept OSC messages then of course you can control it with OSC.

First check controller user manual for available OSC messages and on which port it operates.

Then make sure controller and app are on the same local network and get local IP address of your controller.

In iMiX16 app use Playlist cues. In cue setup window enter controller IP address, OSC port and message.

Hi Gregor

I have just sent you an email which is very similar to this request! I have a Mac running Mix16 Show Cue Lite (prior to purchase) and a Behringer XR18 on the same network. I have enabled MIDI and OSC on the XR18 and on Mix16. In the Mix16 settings, Mix16 recognises the XR18 for MIDI input and output.

Howevere, due to my lack of knowledge I do not know how to tell Mix16 Show Cue to create a cue eg from microphone channels 1,2, 3 and 4 in one cue, and then in the next cue, turn off channels 1,2,3 and 4 and play a sound cue from the Aux channel!

Always learning.
