Mix16Pro running on Macbook Pro (OS 10.14.5) and video files randomly stop outputting video signal. File is still running in the playlist

Hi.

Hoping someone can help with this annoying problem.   Random files in the playlist (all MP4) stop outputting video signals to the external display.   Audio will continue to run and the playlist counter continues to count down.

Using HDMI on the output of the Macbook Pro.

Getting to the point where I cannot rely on it during the show

Thanks

Jay

Newer mac you say ... what is the version of the mac which is causing the problems? Do you have it on power adapter or is it running on battery? Which version of macOS?

Also please go to System Preferences > Energy Saver and write down your settings.

Did you try with another HDMI cable?

G

Yes and a different projector. So we have a backup computer which is a newer MacBook Pro and it doesn’t seem to have a problem

What kind of external display are you using (TV, projector, ...) and how long HDMI cable?
Do you use adapter or direct connection from mac?

G

Projector. The HDMI is only about 2 feet and directly connected to my Mac

Hi,

can you test with different switcher? Can you test without it?

Because if audio continues to run and when you press next cue video shows again i don’t believe it is a problem in the app.

Which MacBook model do you have and does it have HDMI port or you are using adapter?

Hi Grega

Audio from the video file continues to run.  It happens randomly. It’s connected to a video switcher on HDMI using a short (5ft) cable.

I can go to the next cue and the video starts outputting again.

Restarting the computer or the program doesn’t affect it.

It never happens to the same file every time. It might be cue three one time and the next time it happens it might be cue twenty.

Hi,

you mean audio from video file continue to run or audio from audio channels?

What kind of external display are you using (TV, projector, ...) and how long HDMI cable?

When video stops working - if you quit the app and run it again does it start working again or you have to restart computer or turn off/on display?

I have the same problem. I have tried rebooting and it’s still doing it.
